Memory in a Mist
30” x 22”
Acrylic – Mixed Media On paper.

A mist settles over a large portion of paper painted black. Having the advantage of how dense the mist appears to be painted, it is not possible to distinguish “what is” from what appears to be. One person commented on the “hair” to let me know it is rare for any of my figures in a painting to have hair at all. They are half right, it is rare for any of my figures to have hair. From this comment I knew the painting was finished. I could no longer distinguish what features, if any, I had intentionally painted. That is success in this instance. In truth, we never know for sure what is contained in a mist.
