Africa is referred to as the point of origin, the cradle of civilization, where it all began, where we began. This visual of this artwork, for me, represents balance. The young African boy has one blue eye, the stronger tribesman holds back the river, the people who hide in the hills attempt to keep their world free of invasion, on the bottom right are pioneers who may feel they have the best of intention as they invade a country they know nothing about. That's what I feel about the disease, it knows nothing about me, however, that did not stop it from invading and altering my balance. The strength in me is being challenged. I am unable to rest, that alone is what pushes most to their end.
